MY DAY AT THE VAN CLEEF & ARPELS BIENNALE IN PARIS@mimo.su

The biggest high  Van Cleef & Arples jewellery event is the  Biennale des Antiquaires, held in Paris every two years. So if you missed this September's show, you will have to wait another two whole years to be able to peer through bullet proof glass at the greatest coming together of high  Cheap Van Cleef Clover Ring in one place. And what a place. The Grand Palais' magnificent glass and steel architecture, built at the same time  and with the same optimism as the Eiffel Tower is flooded with light and buzzing with the world's wealthiest who come to see the fine antiques (it is called Biennale des Anitquaires for a reason) and art on show. But far and away the busiest section of the exhibition is the jewellery 'avenue'. This year Cartier, Hermes, Van Cleef and Arpels as well as two  Van Cleef & Arpels vintage alhambra bracelet jewellery houses, all showed their sparkling wares under the vaulting glass domes of the Grand Palais. Each brand sets up shop along a plushly carpeted avenue the length of say two London Tube train carriages. Miniature little salons are  temporary Aladdin's Caves sparkling with each house's finest creations. The brands bring their clients to the show as well as using it as an excuse to treat them to the very best of Paris. "A little champagne with that diamond bracelet, perhaps Madame?" I love the Biennale and going there is such  a feast of beautiful  van cleef & arpels alhambra long necklace that I feel I should put my head in a black box after leaving the Grand Palais to clean my eyes of the sparkles. And it is not just the amazing jewels that I enjoy, the people watching is fascinating. Here are some pictures I took of what the Biennale looks like. I forgot to pack my camera so used my iPhone but I Knockoff Van Cleef Butterfly Ring promise that next time I will have my proper camera with me so you will be spared the grainy pictures.
THE QUEEN OF CARTIER LOVE BRACELET SALE
Plenty of jewellers got the green bug in 2016, and impressive emeralds were everywhere, with many finding their way on to our fingers.
At the Cartier jewelry store fair, Maria and I were presented with tray after tray of emeralds at Bayco. Over coffee, Maria and I tried on handfuls of the rich green gems, but it was this Colombian emerald cabochon that stuck in my mind.
If subtlety isn’t your strong point, at 32.39 carats, this is the Cartier love ring  for you.
Also showing at Cartier jewelry store was Lydia Courteille, who took the green theme to heart and launched a  Cartier jewellery UK collection, Queen of Sheba, devoted to a single colour. Inspired by the biblical queen and Ethiopia, the country she is said to have ruled 3,000 years ago, alongside the lush tourmalines and tsavorite garnets was an impressive pear-shape peridot, set into an exotic tiara comprised of intertwined snakes. Like many of Lydia's jewels, it sold immediately to a collector. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall when it received its first outing.
A few months later it was time to head to Las Vegas for the annual Couture Show, where the mood is always infectiously upbeat, helped along by the perpetual sunshine and poolside parties.
Debuting at the show was  Cartier Love bracelet, a brand on a mission to promote the image of a modern Colombia through its legendary velvety-green gems by putting in place a system to track and document each gem from origin to customer.
In a luxurious Villa hired by Muzo specially to showcase some of its finest emeralds, I discovered a tray of gems as Replica Van Cleef Between the Finger Ring tempting as gumdrops, cut into a shape I had never seen before. This new cut, created exclusively by Muzo and christened the hexagonal sugarloaf, adds two further facets to the four-sided sugarloaf cabochon, giving each emerald a mouthwatering candy-like appeal.
A highlight of the show are the hugely competitive Couture Design Awards, with exhibitors submitting their best Cartier love jewelry  in categories that cover everything from silver to haute couture.
Of all the 2016 award winners, it was Selim Mouzannar's trapiche  Amulette de Cartier necklace, created in collaboration with Muzo Emerald and winner in the Colored Gemstones Above $20,000 category, that most impressed me.
This one-of-a-kind piece all the way from Beirut combines 47 emeralds from the famous Colombian mines with eight rare trapiche emeralds that are characterised by unusual spoke-like inclusions and which Selim has been collecting for many years - a true labour of love.
During Couture Replica Hermes Bracelet Week in Paris last summer,  Cartier jewelry took one of its best-known motifs, the blossom shape, and gave it a new lease of life in a bold new high  Cartier love bracelet collection that was all about the unusual gems. Of particular interest was a tsavorite from the Merelani mine in Tanzania that, according to Vuitton, has never been seen in a high jewellery collection before. Lighter and mintier in colour than a "traditional" tsavorite, expect to see more of this green gem in 2017.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS VAN CLEEF & ARPELS ALHAMBRA NECKLACE
The absolutely indefatigable Joanna Lumley is once again backing a worthy cause, and this time she is saving tigers from extinction. Lumley is photographed by John Swannell wearing the £500,000 tiger necklace to be auctioned by the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry . "It is fabulously extravagant," says ' Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra jewelry' star and Bond girl Joanna Lumley of the  Van Cleef & Arpels Necklace made by jeweller Catherine Bestin the Channel Islands. The necklace, that weighs almost a kilo, is sculpted out of gold and sparkles with 182 diamonds and precious gems. This colossal necklace is named for the tiger in Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book" and will be auctioned on the 17 June at a gala evening marking the 80th birthday of actress and wildlife campaigner Virginia McKenna OBE, who founded the international wildlife charity  Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra Necklace. All net proceeds will go towards helping the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry save the wild tiger from extinction. Valued at £500,000 and the charity hopes to raise at least £300,000 from the sale. To bolster awareness, Joanna Lumley - who is incidentally filming a new series of 'Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra jewelry' - posed for legendary photographer John Swannell wearing the Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra Necklace. From the shoot at Jewelry in London, Lumley said: "I feel very much that it's almost a royal piece. The Cheap Hermes Clic H Bracelet is so special it can be worn with anything, though I feel a strapless evening gown and long evening gloves would show it to perfection. The moment you put the necklace on, it comes alive! It feels great, like a badge of office, but it's incredibly comfortable and easy to wear. It reminds me of the fabulous pieces in the Duchess of Windsor's collection - panthers and leopards. I adore extreme looks and this is blingtastic!" The  van cleef and arpels perlee necklace features 11.9 carats of diamonds, 7 carats of emeralds and the each tiger holds a heart in its paws. The female tiger holds a 4 carat heart-shape tourmaline and the male a 27 carat rubellite. The black stripes are enamel and the overall effect of the necklace captures the majesty of this beautiful animal. The lucky one who wins the bid for this piece will not only have a unique jewel with an interesting provenance, but will have made a significant contribution to saving from extinction the 3,500 wild tigers left on our planet. And that, in my eyes, makes for a very precious jewel indeed. Sealed bids for the necklace started on 31st May and bidding will close at 20:00 GMT on the 17 June at the gala evening at Jewelry.
